They say that there’s no gain when there’s no pain, but stretching easily debunks this workout myth! While muscle building exercises and cardio activities are excellent, stretching should be incorporated into all training programs. Flexibility is a huge and often missed component to your physical health. Your physical health is a three-legged stool, and all aspects need to be considered – strength, endurance and flexibility. Naturally, as we age, humans tend to lose flexibility, this is one reason why it should be at the top of your exercise regime. Plus, it will prevent common injuries created by muscle building and cardio exercises. The yogis believe that you are only as old as the flexibility of your spine and we tend to agree!

You don’t have to be a gymnast, runner, or professional sports player to stretch. Your independence and mobility can reduce over time. Therefore, it is vital to add stretching to your exercise routine. As the benefits of stretching are below the surface, many people don’t place a high value on stretching regularly. In our professional opinion, it’s incredibly important and the benefits are endless, which is why we recommend that our clients stretch daily.

By stretching daily, common aches and pains you’ve been noticing may start to disappear, especially with tight hips (Read this post). It does not have to take a huge portion of your day. A quick 10-minute stretching sequence can help you achieve the perfect posture when done regularly.
